Day Care Connection is happy to share that we are in the process of reopening our Home Child Care Provider homes. We have been working closely with the Ministry of Education, the City of Toronto, and Toronto Public Health and we will be sharing guidelines and resources while working with Providers to move forward as safely as possible. Day Care Connections primary commitment and priority currently is to ensure the safety of the children, families, staff, and Home Child Care Providers.
The agency has already received the Ministry of Education document the “Home Visitor Checklist: Clarifications of Expectations During Pandemic” and the Ministry of Education “Operational Guidance During COVID-19 Outbreak – Child Care Re-Opening” document which we are reviewing as an agency, and will provide an overview for the Providers in the coming week. We are still awaiting the Toronto Public Health guidance document as well as online training information from Toronto Children’s Services.
Day Care Connection will have new guidelines to follow as we move forward in the reopening of the licensed home child care program. The agency is in the process of developing new policies and protocols, including disinfecting practices and daily screening measures to ensure that we not only keep the children, parents/guardians and staff as safe as possible but also meet all of the required licensing standards as we move towards our ‘new normal’.
Although it has been a time of unprecedented change, upheaval, and stress, we look forward to talking with parents/guardians about making this transition as seamless as possible. We hope that you and your family are safe and healthy during this stressful time. The staff at Day Care Connection are looking forward to reconnecting with the families and children with whom we work, as well as getting a safe plan in place for return to care.
